Roger D’Eath



An enthusiastic retired legendary Hydroplane Pilot who had a truly remarkable career was born in Detroit, Michigan and has been involved in a variety of industries.  From 1967 to 1977 Roger had an impressive career as an Unlimited Hydroplane racer credited with winning multiple race championships.  From 1977 to 1980 he operated a charter boat business in Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Due to the death of his father, Roger returned to the family marina business in Harsens Island, Michigan from 1980 to 1990.  During that time Roger took care of his ailing mother and redeveloped the aging marina into a full service private yacht facility which was subsequently sold in 1990.

Since 1988 Roger has been involved in the putter design industy, where he has developed several patented putters including “The Momentum”, sold to PowerBilt, and “The Equator” sold to TourEdge.  “The Mag Wheel Putter”, designed by Roger was developed and officially licensed by the General Motors Corporation as the official Corvette putter.

Roger currently resides in Venice, Florida, with his wife Denise and leads the Healing Heroes With Sports public charity.  He is dedictated to the rehabilitation of veterans, emergency 1st responders and all the heroes in this country that are physically challenged through the amazing ways all sports can heal.

Healing Heroes with Sports, 501c3, not for profit operates its newly formed organization under Craig’s helm.  With a mission statement of making Manatee and Sarasota Counties THE adaptive sports capital of the United States for our wounded Veterans and First Responders, he has a succesful vision of how to manage it. The 1st goal he and Roger have with HHWS is to bring wounded Heroes and their families to the Bradenton/Sarasota area on fully paid weeklong vacations while offering approximately 25 adaptive sports and recreational activities that they can choose from to learn and participate in while there.

Craig wants to show these brave men and woman what they can still do and enjoy rather than what they cannot do and was created to honor his father, Marine Corporal John Steven Drinko, 1/8/43-8/7/14.  He also is a Physical Education Teacher at Manatee Elementary School where he helps low-income, at risk students at a Title 1, K-5 Elementary School. Not only does he teach Physical Education but he also perserveres to be a positive male role model to his students and his community.

He also dedicates his efforts to some of his life-long friends and Fraternity Brothers who have Served in our Military or work as a First Responder.  These include Daniele Gaskill- USMC, Micheal Cramer- USMC, Patrick McCormick- USAF, Casey Johnson- US Coast Guard, George Heppel- Firefighter, Richard Mack- US Navy, and Adam Blitz- EMT.  Thank you guys for your friendship and service!
